Aimed at the standard junior level introductory course on fluid mechanics taken by all chemical engineers, the book takes a broad-scale approach to chemical engineering applications including examples in safety, materials and bioengineering. A new chapter has been added on mixing, as well as flow in open channels and unsteady flow.
The text is written for both Civil and Environmental Engineering students enrolled in Wastewater Engineering courses, and for Chemical Engineering students enrolled in Unit Processes or Transport Phenomena courses. It is oriented toward engineering design based on fundamentals. The presentation allows the instructor to select chapters or parts of chapters in any sequence desired.
Suitable for courses in water/wastewater treatment and environmental engineering this text provides an introduction to the design of water and wastewater treatment systems. This edition has been revised to incorporate recent improvements in the understanding of fundamental phenomena, applications of new technologies and materials, and new computational techniques. It focuses on designing treatm…
This text is designed for a hydrologist, civil, or agricultural engineer. The text presents an integrated approach to hydrology, using the hydrologic/system or control volume as a mechnism for analyzing hydrologic problems.
Statistics for Engineers and Scientists stands out for its crystal clear presentation of applied statistics. Suitable for a one or two semester course, the book takes a practical approach to methods of statistical modeling and data analysis that are most often used in scientific work. Statistics for Engineers and Scientists features a unique approach highlighted by an engaging writing style tha…
In a global market economy, a viable business cannot be locked into a single form or function anymore. Rather, success is contingent upon a self-renewing capacity to spontaneously create structures, functions, and processes responsive to a fluctuating business landscape. Now in its third edition, Systems Thinking synthesizes systems theory and interactive design, providing an operational method…
The Public Administration Theory Primer explores how the science and art of public administration is definable, describable, replicable, and cumulative. The authors describe several theories and analytical approaches that contribute to what we know about policy administration and consider which are the most promising, influential, and important—both now and for the future. The extensively up…
